Ayurveda Practitioners

As a result of Govt. policy to preserve and propagate the Ayurveda, there are three types of Ayurvedic practitioners. The practice in this system is being regulated through IMCC Act 1970& registration of both institutionally qualified and traditionally trained practitioners is recorded in the registers that are maintained by the Government.

The Ayurveda practitioners happen to be close to the communities where they practice. Very often they act as opinion leaders in the villages on health, social, economic and political matters. In times of illness they are the villagers' first contact. The cost of medicines and their consultation charges are generally lower than those of modern medicine.
