Herbal Remedy for Mumps Mumps refers to a viral disease caused by the mumps virus. Discussed here are few ayurvedic and herbal remedies for mumps:
  • • A pinch of Sodabicarb (NaHCO3) mixed with few drops of water should be applied to the affected area. Rinse it off within few minutes. Repetition of this remedy twice or thrice in a day can be relieving in mumps.
  • • The Swelling and inflammation under the cheeks can be combated with the application of a cloth soaked in mullien tea under the cheeks.
  • • Application of margosa (neem) leaves paste with turmeric on the affected area can also prove effective in mumps.
  • • A smooth paste of asparagus seeds and fenugreek seeds applied on the affected area can render beneficial effects in mumps.
  • • Peel one side of an Indian aloe leaf and warm it. Next, sprinkle a bit of turmeric and the extract of Indian barbery (rasaut) onto it. Now bandage this around the swelling area for instant relief.
  • • Ginger is also considered as an effective herbal treatment for mumps. Make a thick paste of dried ginger with water and apply it on the affected area for reducing inflammation and subsiding pain.
  • • Smear few peepal leaves with clarified butter and heat them to a lukewarm level. Now bandage these leaves around the inflamed part for curative results.
